Clearly an indulgence piece. Too normative and masculine for me, and the nostalgia it’s evoking isn’t anything that resonates with me—The Thing, Cthulhu mythos, etc. Hill admits in the end matter that this is pulp (my word for it), and that’s fine, but it only works if it’s your taste, and Plunge’s pulp is certainly not mine. Least favorite in the series so far by far.
