I went into this excited about a morbidly funny haunting.
But ended up with a ridiculously written woman experiencing mental slippage due to her husband being haunted & depressed. She’s so obsessed with him she can’t handle the idea that he may not give her everything she wants and begins to lose it. Everything sort of goes wrong with her and this book just ends up feeling like a one woman show.
It missed the mark for me. The haunting felt left on the back burner. Nothing about it was scary. I was entertained at first because I did enjoy some of the MC’s theoretical homicidal thoughts and frustrations. But most of the time it was just her having no personality aside from what other people think, being fully obsessed with her husband, and wanting a baby thinking it’ll solve her life problems.
Just overall, not a great book. Not even well written in a lot of areas. Some things left unresolved, and a weirdly quick ending that just didn’t feel very thought out.
