This is my first novel by the author and it was cute if you like a slow burn intermingled with enemies to lovers. For me, I didn't learn more about Indian culture (there are better books that can teach you about the background and customs of South East Asians) but I did appreciate the interweaving of serious issues mixed with the romance (assault, women constantly not being believed when speaking the truth, the double standard between women and men + their sexual promiscuity)
As far as the characterization goes, it wasn't fully consistent for me. Our two MC's initially were planned to be presented a certain way based on our first chapters of introducing them but then they felt different as the story progresses. I will still read more from this author because I'm hoping the side characters are given their own books (I liked Liya's friends a tad bit more lol)
