Spinster: Making a Life of One's Own
by Kate Bolick
I hear the reviewers saying that it delved too much into history and ignored the current realities of singledom (e.g., women's additional burdens of singlehood compared to men's, especially for single mothers, sexism, financial constraints, access to birth control, discrimination, the role that race plays in being a single woman). However, I really enjoyed this book for what it was. I felt a kinship with Kate and I bookmarked a ton of the pages for reference later about my own single life.
