Gallows Hill

finally some good food 😠OMG I have been searching high and low for a good haunted house book. All I wanted was something to give me a similar feeling to Home Before Dark by Riley Sager. And FINALLY I have found something to scratch the itch. This was significantly creepier to me as well. The beginning of this book actually had me feeling creeped out! I was reading this at night in bed and actually second guessing if maybe I should switch books (I didn’t)
I never get scared from books! Obviously it being creepy is super subjective and other people have described this as cozy (I don’t get that AT ALL) but idc I might have found the haunted house author for me.
I also really appreciated the conversation in this book about profiting off of the bloodshed and suffering of others. I think it’s a conversation that is very relevant in the history of my country along with many others.
Overall I just really enjoyed this so much.
