Everything Begins & Ends at the Kentucky Club by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

5.0

I have only finished one story and I am very impressed. Great gay stories should be written like this where there aren't any prurient contents that are regarded as distasteful for reading and discussing in formal settings like a classroom or university lecture hall. Professor Saenz does a good job using Young Adults vocabulary to tell his tales. Contrast this to Professor Aciman's style in the "popular" 'Call me by Your Name.' If I were lucky enough to teach an English 101 class, Professor Saenz's novels will be in my reading list for students who do not wish to read about heterosexual relationships.
