1. Plot: Omegaverse mpreg eggpreg romance ft dragons. Naive human encounters high-powered dragon and they proceed to be attracted to each other while trying to solve a dragon fertility puzzle. Part of my Gay Fantasy Reading Slump Binge.

2. Whew. Okay. So there were some things that I didn't like about this book, but they are really down to personal preferences and not at all objective. I am not a person who's fond of omegaverse stories unless they are subversions of some sort. And while this story is not exactly a cliche and does some fascinating things with the worldbuilding, it does lean in very strongly into some of the things I dislike the most about omegaverse stories: A very clear top/bottom classification, magically-induced birthing and rearing obsessiveness for the omegas, and a distinct lack of female characters in both the story and the world in general.

3. Harry is a naive and gullible but shyly sexually promiscuous virgin type and -uh. Look, I don't like that trope when it's het, and I don't like it just because it's gay here. All of this made reading this a bit of an uncomfortable experience. Also, large parts of this book takes place concurrently to the previous book in the series, which is fine. What's less fine is that the exact same scenes play out the exact same way in this book and that made me a little twitchy. Or bored. One of the two.

4. There were parts I did like though! As with the previous book, the writing was entertaining and the characters were quirky and I smiled a lot while reading it. I also quite liked the worldbuilding and the fertility investigations. I mean, it's not a concept I've never seen before, but I appreciate it anyway because it's a good concept.
SpoilerSpecies sexual dimorphism is great.
Also, Ev's habit of calling Harry by a variety of food related nicknames was, I think, pretty funny.
