Covering many heavy themes the book is interesting. Covering a multi generational family from Cuba, this book is harrowing.
Having not read many books from Cuba, this book was informative and covered a large time frame. However, the different stories from different generations could have been weaved in together better. Additionally, the themes could have been delved into more.
The book had a lot of potential it did not fulfil but still a good debut and I’d read more from this author.
