Beautiful Nightmares by K.J. Sutton

5.0

I love this series and the fourth book may be my favourite so far. The characters continue to get more and more developed as the series continues and it tied up a lot of strands from the plot of books 2&3. This book was much longer than the previous three, but it didn’t drag. I sometimes found it hard to switch between the states of consciousness, you’d get amazing scenes then cut to the dreamscape which was sometimes frustrating but ultimately worth it for the plot. KJ Sutton’s world has taken shape so vividly and I’m very excited (and a little scared) for the next book. I see a lot of people saying this reminds them of ACOTAR and then get hateful, it’s not at all like that series. The plot and timing is much quicker, character development will take longer and most characters are morally grey at best. The first book has some similar themes but after that there is a huge divergence.
