taytayk 's review for:
Crime and Punishment
by Fyodor Dostoevsky
"Life had stepped into the place of theory and something quite different would work itself out in his mind".
I won't be the first person to say it's a great book, or that it's a deeply emotional, deeply introspective, and deeply human book. It's a great work that deserves its praise.
I will say, though, that it is a book which I enjoyed, then hated, then loved. The middle is a slog and forced me to take a break from reading. However, pushing through this intermediacy is a necessary effort in reaching some really beautiful ideas and dialogues in the twilight of the story, so I'd recommend persevering.
It's not so much that there's not a lot left to say, but rather that there is too much to say to fit in the space of a Goodreads review. I'll leave it there, then.
Красивый роман.
"Твой худший грех - то, что ты разрушил и предал себя ради ничего."
