As per everything else in this series: The underlying sexism and homophobia seem more author than narrator when the author refuses to narratively condemn any of it. It could be way shorter, and the tension is particularly telling when dealing with any action outside of Romeā€“or lack of tension would be better. Caesar is not always appropriately judged for being as much of an ass as he is, not to mention that a lot of her wordplay is not as clever as she thinks it is and so makes characters look more boorish than she intends.

And yet, here I am, expounding to my gf about Romans, again.
