Shehan Karunatilaka explores some of the most fascinating topics of human existence: the dark void that lies between good and bad, the afterlife, and the soul of a war-torn country. This core plot is classic crime story, someone trying to solve a murder. But the author’s spin on it makes it so much more. It’s gripping, full of magic, cruel, full of (unspoken) true love, confusing and agitating. Plus, it teaches you  about Sri-Lankan history.

One of the best books I have read so far.
