One does not simply finish a Rudy Francisco collection once.
I have every book Rudy has done thus far although I’m not a massive fan of poetry. I have only bought 2 other collections from different poets and honestly I never finished them, didn’t even make it half way.
However ‘Helium’ is something I would read front to back constantly until I know every poem. It doesn’t matter if you like poetry or not, you will relate to it and something in this collection will speak to you in a profound way. It’s just what Rudy does.
The images he writes will stay with me and have stayed with me for a long time from his other books. All I can say is look him up on YouTube, if none of that gets you interested in his work then I don’t know what will.
