Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality
by Helen Joyce
informative
inspiring
reflective
Excellent, incisive dissection of trans ideology and of its progression through Western society mainly via clever lobbying techniques. Much of the relevant legislation was made (or is being proposed) with good and kind intentions towards trans people who, as Joyce acknowledges 'have difficult lives'. She goes on to clearly outline the unintended, often devastating, consequences for other groups, such as women, children and same-sex attracted people. The book is meticulously researched and brims with logical, evidence-based information. Its rational tone is a welcome relief amid the hysterical verbiage of the culture wars. I saw no trace of anti-semitism. Highly recommended if you're looking for a summary of what's going on and how we've got to where we are.
