Death Angel by Linda Howard
3.0
Unexpectedly Riveting
Drea has become nothing but a brittle doll to a powerful and terrible man. Her time has run out so she takes a chance and makes a break for freedom....with $2 million she stole from a drug lord. She's on the run from him and his assassin now...
I think I saw this book going down waaaaay differently than it did. I honestly was intrigued the whole time which is one of the main reasons I rated this higher. That and the romance this book did have...just made me happy. Drea is so smart and cunning, but I think the best part is how she had such growth throughout the book. It was amazing to watch. Don't even get me started on Simon. I really do love a morally grey character; they are just so much more interesting and dynamic than a prince charming. I loved anything with Simon in it because he really was an interesting part of this book. The biggest downside for me was the lack of development with the actual relationship in the book. It was very disappointing. I think there was collectively maybe 50-75 pages all together where the couple actually interacted which in a 365 page book is not much. The interactions they did have really pulled me in and didn't let go, which is why I wish there was more. This wasn't a bad book by any means....but I feel a little gipped.
