Say You'll Remember Me
by Abby Jimenez
i love abby jimenez and i don’t think there’s any other author whose books i more consistently read in one sitting. the acotar references at the beginning and general tiktok vibes in some of their conversations (e.g., would you still love me if i was a worm) would’ve bothered me more if i didn’t love the story with samantha’s mom so much. family taking care of sick loved ones is always going to hit close to home for me, but i especially appreciated that this didn’t have a rose colored glasses perspective on what it’s like caring for someone you love as they’re fading away from you. xavier was too perfect to be real but i can look past that because it’s a romance novel and i think samantha deserved a win. i also always appreciate romance novels that don’t have manufactured conflicts but instead have actual real issues in the relationship and this was a perfect example of that
