The White Queen by Philippa Gregory

2.0

Elizabeth was just a mere country girl, rumored to be the descendant of the great water goddess Melusina. She falls for a handsome young king named King Edward and becomes his wife. Together they face many battles and will eventually lead to one of the greatest mysteries of all time, the missing York Princes of the tower.

If I could rate this 2 1/2 stars, I would have. This tale shows female power which is one thing I quite enjoyed, Elizabeth is not your average woman this is not your average tale about a damsel in distress. It also contains many battles and conflicts, at first it's intriguing but then it turns into almost the same thing over and over again (They battle, Elizabeth has a baby, they go into hiding) this happens several times so it slowly becomes irritating. Elizabeth is constantly having a baby that it becomes one of the most important and most talked about situations in the story that it gets annoying and I slowly start to lose interest. By the time I flipped to the last page I whispered, "thank goodness its over". If your a historical fiction buff, you may like this, you may not. Rated: 15 and over because of the way the language is spoken and because of the sexual situations in the book.

If you liked this, you'll love: The Red Queen (Cousins War #2)
