I completely forgot Katniss killed Coin instead of Snow and that Coin proposed a Hunger Games with Capitol children. Also did Suzanne always intend for Tigris to be Snowβs cousin or did that come later? Prim's death is even more tragic because despite everything Katniss still couldn't keep her safe AND she recognized Prim from a ducktailed shirtπππππππππππππ
Now let's talk about the ending. Anyone who was disappointed by the ending completely missed the point. Gale and Peeta aren't just love interests for her to waffle over, they're symbolic of two different worldviews, and if you canβt pick up on that by this point, I can't help you. Katniss can either give into her anger, seek vengeance, and cause more destruction, or she can choose to create a better world based on love and empathy. Even after all she's been through she still choses hope and that's really freaking beautiful!!!!!!
After giving it some thought, the best analogy between the trilogy and prequels are the Rerecords. We might not be getting a lot of new information, but we get a peek behind the curtain of the creative process and better understand the narrative they were trying to create, and why certain things might have got cut.
