Pretties by Scott Westerfeld

This is quite a different type of book I usually read, but nonetheless topical nowadays with all the pretty Instagram cult going on right now. The main character's journey seems to spin out of control in this one more than in the first one, there is adventure after adventure and new acquaintances made on the way and more twisted things revealed about the whole regime. It is captivating world building and the depth of relationships also is quite impressive. I did take a breather in about 75% in the book, but once I picked it up again I was unable to put it down running through the pages with the main character and seeing what else can go wrong and what else can happen that has not happened before. This author knows how to wield a pen.
