The Slave by Kate Aaron
5.0
****Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance****
4.5 Stars
I found The Slave to be rich in detail and I loved the flow of the narrative. All three men in this relationship are unique: The master, the slave and the soldier.
I could feel Tam’s reticence in caring for Kai and understood where he was coming from. Kai’s actions were also very understandable and I loved how they both came to find their places. The Master’s motivations were harder to grasp and I hope the next book sheds some light on his character.
In the end we get to know Tam, know some of Kai and little of Master. The cliff hanger was frustrating and knowing that the second also does not completely resolve the story almost makes me want to wait until the third book is out to continue. However, I am curious as to Kai’s background and will probably read The Soldier sooner rather than later.
