There were things at the beginning of the book that almost made me DNF. Weirdly (and thankfully), they disappeared and weren't in the rest of the book. Thank god. I actually liked these characters and their story so it would have been a shame if I had DNF'ed it. These were in the inner monologue:
  • "It's what the youth are calling... the finance bros. *Shudders*"
  • The mention of 'girl dinner'
  • "(...) only to realize the stench *whispers* was me".
  • "Gasp, what if he (...)"
  • "Yet here we are, taking the W".
The following were said out loud:
  • "You know, as Sabrina Carpenter would say, we have really good bed chem"
  • "You can't let him live rent-free inside your head"

Now that we got that out of the way.. I liked the MMC a lot. He's kind, takes care of his brother and doesn't expect anything in return. He's bored and says yes to helping the FMC by acting as her husband. This is a fake dating story, about a divorced 29-year-old FMC and a rich 27-year-old MMC.

It does get spicy at one point, and I feel like there should have been more discussion about boundaries between the two. Hair-pulling, spanking and certain toys just seem like things you want to be sure the other person will enjoy as well, ya know.
