Tales from Moominvalley by Tove Jansson

4.0

Need to revisit all Moomin reviews to write something more coherent, because all the books blew me away. I liked the gentleness of these short stories, and how often they were about coming to terms with who you are--whether that's through growth and change or accepting who you are at heart. The intro story about Snuffkin was my favorite. His friendship with Moomin--and the ways he feels stiffled by that friendship--is such a complicated subject to put in a kids' book, but kids are so much more world-smart than we give them credit for.
