hayleysellick 's review for:
break your glass slippers
by Amanda Lovelace
in this fairy tale, the princess doesn’t recklessly leave behind a glass slipper for the not-so-charm-ing prince. in this fairy tale, the princess takes a hammer to them, shattering both to pieces.
I am on a 'very unusual for me' poetry kick right now and when I say poetry, I may just mean books by Amanda Lovelace. I really enjoy her style of poetry - it has a narrative, rather than a random collection of words. This one was a retelling of Cinderella, only this time it's about female empowerment, positive self-love and strength. I enjoyed 'The Princess Saves Herself In This One' slightly more, but this one is great too. I will, of course, be reading every single one of her other books and will probably just end up repeating this review over and over, so you have that to look forward to!
