This book means so much. It is heart-warming, a hug, hopeful. Every mundane conversation has deeper meaning, it's so cleverly written in that respect. It doesn't preach; it demonstrates. The kids are adorable and funny, and the protagonist Linus's journey is masterfully crafted as he gradually learns (mostly through the kids) what he needs to learn to change his dull, meaningless life, during his visit to the House. It's all about acceptance and love and patience, especially for those who have experienced trauma and rejection. Everyone should read this - but especially social workers, careworkers, parents (especially those with neurodiverse kids), teachers, Ofsted inspectors, EVERYONE!

I am also glad I picked up the audiobook first, Daniel Henning is great, the kids really come alive with his narration, his voices for them are perfect! But, I do also have a physical copy on its way, and will be buying the ebook too so that I can make lots of notes & highlights!!
