Though it is considered a "dark academia" book by social media, I feel you'll get more out of the book going into it without that expectation.
Tartt's writing style is amazing and paired with the medium pacing, you feel continually engrossed by the story. It always feels like something is going on in the plot. The characters in the greek class are enigmatic, complex, and (some are) not always the most likable. Richard's (unreliable) narration gives you a partially romanticized view of the events and characters which makes the thought process when reading even more interesting.
I would highly recommend picking up this book if you're considering it, as it was truly a phenomenal read.
