is there anything to say except i loved this?
all rhodes lead here is m.z's most recent book, and from what i've seen (and now read!!) amazingly read. i loved it. it was amazingly sweet, emotional and beautiful.

firstly, aurora?
hands down (see what i did there?) my new favourite mariana zapata heroine. for so many reasons. she was sweet, she was beautiful, she was emotional (and okay with showing it,) she KILLED THEM WITH KINDNESS and most importantly: she had her own sparkle, her own shine that everyone who interacted with her saw. she was tough, but she wasn't ashamed to cry (a little okay a lot)
she never shied away from all the things that made her, her! i loved watching her make relationships, invest in them, and find a family, a home. she was the most delightful character i've read about in awhile.
i want to be like ora. please, this is who i'm going to channel when i need someone strong to think about.

tobias? rhodes? mr. rhodes?
i understand why you swear he's the "dilf to end all dilfs."
THE WAY YOU CAN JUST SEE HIM START TO CARE AND HIM AND AMOS INCORPORATE ORA INTO THEIR LIVES WAS SO WHOLESOME AND I'M ACTUALLY SO FUZZY INSIDE.
he gave her a water bottle guys!! it was a moment.
the way he never held her back but was there for her and cared for her and GENIUNELLY WANTED TO BE A PART OF HER LIFE, had me running laps around my room. he came to rescue her lots of times, and yes while she could've made it without him coming, both you and i were very glad he did come. especially me.
he...he... SET UP CAMPING STUFF FOR AURORA BECAUSE SHE WAS SAD THAT SHE HAD NOBODY TO CAMP WITH. actually she didn't even say she was sad, he could just TELL, because he observes her and knows her body language and my standards.

amos, am is my favourite. a musician?? SHY?? sweet? CARES?
i reaaallly thought him and jackie were going to be a thing but you know what? sometimes you can live with being wrong. i loved his relationship with aurora, his dad, his family, and i loved every interaction we got of him. even when he was being a moody teenager.

the plot is set in a small town and i never knew i could be homesick for a place i've never been but it's this town. this book. although i'd like the avoid the bats (and mouse and eagles too) i would risk it all to meet aurora. and rhodes. and clara. and AMOS hiiiii
seriously, i've never been a fan of the outdoors and suddenly i'm sprinting to find my hiking boots.

i could visualize this book so well, and for me that's what makes a book really special.
rounded up to a 5 star :)
