King of the Wind: The Story of the Godolphin Arabian by Marguerite Henry
4.0
I really liked this one. That was surprising since the last few Newbery's I read were pretty disappointing. In some ways this appears to be an American version of Black Beauty, set in Morocco, Paris, and London. However, Sham and Agba really appealed to me. I feel they, and Grimalkin of course, are more relatable to the child audience they were created for. I forgot how much I like Marguerite Henry's writing style.
