The Fabled Earth by Kimberly Brock
medium-paced
2.75
I really wanted to like this book.
My main issue was that I could not connect with any of the characters. Three main POVs, and one of those is split between time so it feels like there’s four.
I think this narrative was just trying to do too much. It tackled classism, sexism, racism, politics, etc. but none of the discussion around these topics felt nuanced. I found myself putting the book down multiple times just to sit there wondering why I was being told told what to think about something when I’d already figured that out fifty pages before. I did not feel trusted as a reader.
