A Thousand Perfect Notes by C.G. Drews
5.0

First of all, I can't believe I finished 2 books in less than 3 hours. I'm on a roll here.

Second, this was so sad . I cried so hard for Beck. His life was hell and the universe was so unfair to him, it's ridiculous. I mean he was scared and refused to stand up to himself but still, it was so sad .

Aside from being heartbreaking, this book was so unbelievably beautiful. Beck is such a precious cinnamon roll, I want to hug him and protect him from all the world's cruelness. No matter what the world threw at him, he never fought back and DOES NOT DESERVE ANY OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO HIM!! He tries to block out the world and civilization and is an outcast but he actually is so soft and sweet on the inside, especially to his little sister. HE IS SO CUTE TO HIS SISTER!! No matter what she does, he never gets mad at her and is so patient with her. The world would be a better place with more guys like him.

August is this cheerful, smiling, carefree bubble who has a happy life, with a happy family and is determined to make Beck her happy friend. Or to at least teach him how to smile. Even though he is rude to her in the beginning and asks her - repeatedly - to leave him alone, she always sticks around and is there when he needs it. They had the cutest relationship and I ship it so hard. I cry. We need a sequel to this. Though a sequel might ruin the story.

Spoiler I have made up this ending in my head where he goes to Germany and learns how to become a composer of his own music and comes back go August where she's waiting for him - or she goes to him in Germany as she said she will. There they get together and after several years, they get married and he becomes a famous and successful composer and she has her own shelter where she rescues and cares for animals. Joey becomes an amazing chef and opens her own restaurant. Beck and August have 2 children, a girl and a boy, and own 9 dogs, 3 tortles, and a horse and live a perfect life. Too unrealistic? I know.

And the quotes in this book? I highlighted nearly every line. I'm thinking of framing the book itself instead of framing every single sentence there. There are these meaningful quotes in there that stir your soul and have you pondering them day and night. I can't even get them out of my head.

This is my first book to read of Drews' and I can assure you, it won't be the last. I cannot wait to pick up [b:The Boy Who Steals Houses|40170373|The Boy Who Steals Houses|C.G. Drews|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1526749950s/40170373.jpg|62315086] next.
