This book had such a huge impact on my life. It's not the easiest book to jump into, but once I got used to the style, I was enthralled in Annie Dillard's world and her way with words. Always more of a homebody/indoors person, it really made me want to get out and really "see" the natural world---something that has stuck with me for the 20+ years since I read this book. I also cannot kill spiders anymore because of her.
