This novel was a "novel in verse," but it translated well through audio - the narrator does a great job of reading the book in a way that makes you feel like it's almost live poetry at an open mic night, in the best possible way!

The story is about a 15-year-old girl named Esme, a dancer who is passionate about her art and gets the opportunity to train and be part of the "Elite" dancing team as a freshman, even though it's typically reserved for upperclassmen. She has to battle through many things: other dancers in the class, her family's money problems, her dad's back issues, and a lot of self-doubt when it comes to her body image as a large-chested girl.

The format of this novel allowed the reader to dance with the MC and all the other characters in the story. I could imagine the sad moments and happy moments in the book as dance moves that Esme would have performed. The reading of the book went quickly, but I didn't feel rushed, and the ending came and made everything nice and sweet.
Great read, for young readers and old!!!
