Silent Spring by Rachel Carson

dark informative reflective medium-paced

5.0

i've been meaning to properly read this book for almost fifteen years.  it was better than I imagined it.  in a way, it reads like a dystopia.  Rachel Carson was a fantastic writer -- I have no doubt that her lush prose greatly contributed to the wide-ranging impact Silent Spring continues to have on environmentalism.

anyways, I think this is one of the best books of the 20th century and certainly one that I'd encourage everyone to read.  it's only gotten more relevant.
