I was rockin with the first book it sucked me in and I was jazzed to start the second book and they could have taken this in a million directions. I am so tired of the trope where we take the most powerful woman in the land and dick-ma-tize her and that is the plot. Additionally the whole <spoiler: him being both gray and bashian> giving me (switch up my weave make him feel like he cheatin’ -thank you Meg the stallion) vibes. Also the parents were killed off with like no fan fair.
