The Last Hope School for Magical Delinquents by Nicki Pau Presto [Penguin Teen Canada #gifted]
I love a good middle grade novel about a magical school and The Last Hope School for Magical Delinquents meets all that one would want from such a story, but with a fun twist.
Vin has been suspended and expelled from almost every magical school and now she's being sent to The Last Hope School for Magical Delinquents - literally her last hope to stay within the magical world. Despite her best efforts to control her unpredictable and powerful magic, it would appear that those at Last Hope wants her to use and explore her magic. As more accidents happen, Vin begins to wonder if perhaps she's not the reason for these outbursts, and with the help of her new friends, she may have a chance to fight and defend the only school that has ever tried to help her with her magic.
I really enjoyed the concept of this magical school for students who don't quite fit into the standard mold of what is expected within this magical world. The characters within the story are full of interesting backgrounds and abilities that pulled me in to all the magic and mischief that they got into. This is definitely a magical school story that should be on your tbr.
