"Resin" tells the tale of Liv, a girl born to a hoarder father and a submissive mother. She has never been together with other kids besides her brother and takes everything that her father tells and does as the pure truth. Together with her twin brother Carl, they go on tiny adventures - foraging for food and other useful stuff in people's homes in the nighttime and sleeping in a container during the daytime.
The story is truly peculiar, showing off the naive beliefs, vivid imagination and coping methods of a young girl, the deep and inescapable depression of the mother and the awful mental sickness and hoarding of the father. All of the elements combined immerse the reader in a true craziness, with each turn of the page the story is becoming more and more surreal. And although the content is absolutely horrible, the writing is really expressive and gripping.
If you're not afraid of some mysterious, kind of disgusting and fully depressing thriller, please do try to read it! Whether you will like it or not, it will be an experience of a lifetime.
