The Cabinet of Curiosities by Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child

so this installment of the agent pendergast series has some truly gruesome moments and a real sci-fi twist. bouncing around manhattan both geographically and in time keeps the tension high. you have to pay attention to the nuance. sometimes it's a bit too gritty for my taste, but it's a thriller that snags you from the start and keeps you guessing until the end.
