The Once and Future Witches, by Alix E. Harrow

3.0

I was ultimately disappointed by The Once and Future Witches after Harrow's lovely first novel, The Ten Thousand Doors of January. Witches still has Harrow's fairy-tale-like prose and intimately defined characters, but the story lacked a strong central mystery to pull me through the rather slow paced plot.
