4.0

Read this book if you want to laugh out loud, chuckle, grin, jump up and down because you are so happy, role your eyes at some miserable character decision, be annoyed how cute and adorable the main characters behave together and experience some spice.

What tropes to expect (the perfect mix):
  • grumpy (he is actually a softy inside, what a surprise)/sunshine
  • found family (a lot!)
  • small town romance
  • fake dating (kinda?)
  • kinda millionaire vibes??
  • overprotective dad (love the family father, softy vibe) and alpha male
  • steam and spice

What I loved:
  • the relationship between Waylay and Naomi and OF COURSE between Waylay and Knox (but seriously, who names her kid Waylay)
  • the alpha male vibes (aka relationship and sex life between the two love birds)
  • the nicknaming and little things Knox did to her (coffee, phone with daisies, cottage, …)
  • his demand for the upcoming special day, adore the two
  • the message to overcome your fear of loosing someone and just fucking love them

What I kinda disliked:
  • the fake dating was unnecessary
  • the length (some repetitions)

< spoiler >

  • the breakup was unnecessary
  • to much happy couples in the prologue? Like everyone got the perfect match…
  • the drama in the end (even though that was necessary to enlighten Knox. hehe.)
  • a little toxic masculinity, referring to him saying: „I’m a man, men don’t cry“ and „I don’t like when others cry“ (even though we are here for some of that and it resolved in the end)
