A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore

2.0

First off, there is a lot of swearing in this book. You have been warned. Second, I found the main character pretty obnoxious and all the other characters were based off of typical, possibly offensive, stereotypes. The humor was entertaining for the first little bit but then it just distracts from the story as the author tries to fit in every possible one-liner he can think of. I felt like the plot had promise and was interesting in the general sense, but there were quite a few plot holes and things that didn't quite add up or get explained as they should. It was difficult to keep track of time-wise, hard to tell if a week had passed or five years. Overall, I wasn't scratching my eyeballs out, but I sure was happy when it was over. It was for sure the weirdest book I've ever read.
