Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

5.0

This book has not only made me look at Ray Bradbury in a new light but at my own world with new eyes, similar to the awakening that is experienced by the main character.

The society in which the novel takes place is one of war, short attention span and a dislike of the written word. There is a lack of conversation, exchange of ideas or individual thought. I was enamored by the plight of Montag the fireman and fell hopelessly in love with the beautiful writing that Bradbury uses to ironically explain the lack of color in his imaginary world. A good read any time.
