The Autoimmune Fix: How to Stop the Hidden Autoimmune Damage That Keeps You Sick, Fat, and Tired Before It Turns Into Disease by Tom O'Bryan

3.0

I'm not sure what I think of this book. It's very clear on what you're supposed to eat and shouldn't eat, and the author clearly explains why. I'm just not convinced, which has to do with two things: you're allowed to eat meat and reintroduce dairy, at no point does he mention that meat can cause digestive problems and inflammation, even though he does mention FODMAPs. And if dairy isn't the most unnatural thing to eat for a grown-up, then I don't know what is.

The other reason is his tone of voice, like he's not informing you but telling you what to do. Telling you you shouldn't have gluten, and that even the tiniest bit can make you sick, and at the same time telling you you're bound to fail keeping it out of your diet because a lot of products are contaminated. So you're going to die anyway and you get to feel really bad about it. It doesn't exactly make you feel empowered, hopeful and motivated.
