I will never look at Peter Pan the same way again, in this continuation of the series we pick up exactly where the last book left off. We find out what happened with Winnie after Cherry locked her up with one of the shadows. Since I had just read the previous book I was aware of what was happening, but I would have preferred if the author had included a brief summary/recap for readers who may have forgotten (or haven't read the book in awhile).

The plot? A tad confusing, and seemed to have a few plot holes - as a reader, I hope that these will get addressed in the next installment. I was under the impression that this was a conclusion to the series, but after the cliffhanger it's clear the author has more to share. I'm not sure if a sequel was always planned or not, but this book does fall under the "middle" book and it clearly shows.

I'm glad that our characters are safe (for now), as I've grown to love them (Vane) but it also would be nice to see them in a bit more danger! Once again, Winnie shows off how much of a badass she is and I love how she takes control of any situation. In addition, we finally get to meet Roc (The Crocodile) who is Vane's brother and his big entrance does not disappoint!
