Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

5.0

This amazing book taught me so much about Trevor Noah. I knew he was a good comedian, a host of the Daily Show and now I know he is a great writer. I enjoyed this book very much. It's a story about Noah and his mother. His mother's life and faith and how she is a fucking saint for putting up with all the bullshit Trevor got up to when he was young. OMG! He was a TROUBLEMAKER and a HOOLIGAN!
His description of apartheid was very matter of fact without embellishing or downplaying. I learned a lot about it.
I listen to it on audio and would recommend it to people who want to hear Trevor Noah speak the many African languages as he describes various situations. Also, the whole Go, Hitler! chapter got me laughing so hard!
I enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it to everyone.
