Counting on a Countess by Eva Leigh

4.0

I’m this second installment, the female is a smuggler and the male character is a newly minted earl with not money to back up the title. He also has no financial acumen and spends money and wracks up debt like it won’t ever come back to bite him. She marries him to have a neglectful husband so she can continue smuggling to save her people from starvation.

I like marriage of convenience plots more than anything, and this one was okay. Both characters have moments of emotional growth. But it was just okay.
