If I could describe this book in one word it would be insightful or thought provoking (which I guess is two words). It was also gritty and complex as it talked about problems that are still widely frowned upon and criticized/shunned. Many people before reading this book would think it’s a thriller which there were aspects of thriller though they leaned more towards the action side than it did the “scary” side. If anything I’d classify this book as an American noir novel with the subjects it touched. Overall, I would read this book again especially during thanksgiving as it helps put into light all that I should be thankful for.
