As Old as Time
by Liz Braswell
This is the book that I blame for my obsession with books and my large book collection. This was the book that really kicked start my love for reading years ago. This book is so amazing with a very interesting twist. The twist with this book is that what is Belle’s mother cursed the Beast. In this story, Belle’s mother, Rosalind, was the enchantress that cursed the beast for not having love in his heart. At the beginning of this story, you have a past timeline where we meet Belle’s mother and see her parents’ relationship blossom. They live in the village the is governed by the Beast’s palace that is run by his parents. Overtime things start happening that push Maurice, Rosalind, and young Belle to move to the provincial town. You learn why the enchantress targets the prince in due time. Also at the beginning you have the present timeline which is the start of the original story until there becomes a point where they collide. There is so much to this story that is amazing that this was a must reread for me. The second time around was just as fun and touching as the first. There are some dark references so I would check trigger warnings. This story is just amazing and a great start to one of my favorite series.
