Marco Effekten
by Jussi Adler-Olsen
These books are intense. I find myself invested in the characters and what happens to them. Sometimes I have to put the book down and look away, I can't....I don't want to know......peaks through fingers........ok, maybe another page.....And another......phew, ok, I can keep going......shit....no....And so on. So basically I love these books. They are an immersive experience. And in this one, Marco is a doll. Great character! Loved him. And that's the most interesting thing about this series, in several I have cared even more about the people involved in whatever crime than I do about the main characters. That doesn't happen in most mystery series. In practically every other crime series the mysteries are often secondary to our love for the protagonist and what happens to him/her, but not here, not in this series. I end up caring just as much about the people involved in whatever crime as I do for the Dept Q team. I am hooked, have been hooked, will read more.
