5 stars for being a master of what it is: a beautiful fantasy and love story in a picturesque world that is a page turner. Probably 3-4 stars for actual literary whatever.
I didn’t even realize this was a sequel until I went to add the book to goodreads. It works perfectly as a standalone. Honestly, it’s the perfect pandemic read -light hearted with magic and tension that isn’t overwhelming and a happy ending. What more could a reader in this genre ask for?
