Cruel Money by K.A. Linde
5.0

This book is crazy. I'm honestly still in shock over the ending of this book. Immediately after finishing this book I went and looking for the second book and breathed a relieved sigh over the fact the second book comes out this year.

Cruel Money was a fantastic book and it left me with so many questions.

Natalie and Penn had one beautiful weekend together in Paris (which you can read about in One Cruel Night for free). Six years later Natalie still hasn't forgotten Penn and him leaving with no word after taking her virginity. Natalie never expected to run into Penn again but during a ritual burning of her rejection letters, she runs straight into Penn all over again. Turns out the house she's watching belongs to his very famous family.

Natalie is doing everything to ignore the connection she still feels for Penn, but he's pulling out all the stops and Natalie doesn't know how much longer she can ignore her growing feelings for him.

Penn has done everything he could to pull himself away from the toxic relationship he has with his family. Taking a year off to finish his book he escapes to his families house on the beach. He never expected to see Natalie again. When his friends make a bet that he can't get her to fall for him and attend his families party with him by the end of summer he takes it. What better excuse to hang out with the woman from his past he couldn't forget.

I have to say I thought this book was going to be in mostly Penn's perspective based off of the book description. That's not really the case. In fact, for most of the story, I felt left in the dark regarding Penn's feelings. I'm unsure at this point if I want Penn to have a happy ending at all. I guess we shall see where the second installment of this trilogy leaves us.

My goodness, this book was so good. I had no idea how this story was going to end, but when it did I was blown away. Seriously, this book turned out to be even more amazing with that cliffhanger ending. I honestly sat in shock thinking that couldn't be the end. AH! I so want the next book in my hands right this moment.

Absolute must-read!
