It takes some time to figure out "how" to read this book, but I think it's a worthwhile exercise - I loved it. The plot is surreal and non-linear, and chapters are interspersed with the main character, Cyrus, imaginings of conversations between fictional characters and people in his life. For all this book intimately considers death, grief and isolation, it's still funny and silly, and I cared deeply about the characters. I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone, but it absolutely hit the mark for me.
Graphic: Drug abuse
Moderate: Death
